- Premium Austrian ferrocerium rod (76% rare-earth alloy) nested inside a separate 96% pure magnesium rod – throws massive 5,500°F sparks and shaves 4,500°F-burning magnesium
- Beefy 3/8" × 3½" combo rod (½" securely epoxied, 3" exposed) – thousands of strikes and plenty of magnesium when the mission demands it
- High-carbon tempered steel striker – sharp, glove-friendly, stays lethal for life
- Hand-tied 550 seven-strand paracord lanyard
