Wear your fire. The Kamper Lanyard is a 3 oz, 5⅝" neck-carry ferro rod fire starter on a 40" adjustable 550 paracord lanyard — so if the pack comes off, the fire starter stays with you.
My wife and I hand-make every one in Florida. Austrian ferrocerium (76% rare-earth alloy) throws a large shower of ~5,500°F sparks with normal pressure. A separate 96% magnesium rod shaves into hot tinder in about 10–15 seconds. The African Padauk handle is dense, resin-rich, glove-friendly, and can be scraped for emergency tinder.
No ferro rod lights soaking-wet tinder by magic. Prep dry tinder — or shave magnesium — then throw sparks. That is how you get fire after rain, wind, or a soak.
